Through the Montana governor’s initiative to increase COVID-19 surveillance testing, Southwest Montana Community Health Center, Butte-Silver Bow Public Health, and St James Healthcare are partnering to offer FREE COVID-19 nasal swab testing at the Butte Plaza Mall parking lot starting Thursday, June 18, 2020, at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Testing events will be on-going: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Test recipients must be asymptotic of COVID-19 at the time of the surveillance testing. If you are actively sick (symptomatic), call your provider or CHC at 723-4075 for testing and guidance.

Specifics about the test:

Does it hurt?

This test is self-administered and “is not the deep one”. Most people say it tickles. It takes about 30 seconds.

Why get tested?

As we re-open, we are traveling, socializing, shopping, and working with others which increases our risk for contracting the COVID-19 virus. People who carry the virus and are asymptotic or pre-symptomatic may spread the virus unknowingly. Through extensive testing and knowing where the virus is and is not, we may be able to stay ahead of this infectious disease and remain open.

Reminder
Continue to wear masks and when in social situations keep a distance of 6 feet between yourself and others. Wash your hands frequently.

See you at a test site!
