The mission of the Roads & Bridges Division is to maintain and repair roads within the City and County of Butte-Silver Bow. Services provided also include sanding selected roads and bridges and plowing snow within Butte-Silver Bow.
The division is based out of the Butte-Silver Bow Maintenance center at 93 Beef Trail Rd.
Many construction projects require a stormwater permit in Butte-Silver Bow. Refer to the Metro Sewer page for application information.
Sign Maintenance & Repair
The Department of Public Works takes great pride in repairing, replacing, and installing missing street signs. Frequently, signs are damaged or destroyed by automobiles, weather conditions, or vandals. We are asking all residents to help us; if you notice that a street sign is missing, faded or incorrect, please use the Report Street or Traffic Sign Damage page to request sign service. To request a stop sign installation, use the Request a Stop Sign Installation form or call Public Works at 406-497-6565.
The destruction or theft of traffic signs is a tremendous safety hazard. Some signs are essential for public safety, especially in rural areas where emergency responders depend on street signs for quick response.
