Name: John Morgan

How long have you lived in Butte-Silver Bow:
 I am a Butte Lifer.

What Commissioner District do you Represent and how long have you lived in that district: District #3, I moved into the neighborhood in July 2007.

How long have you been in office: I have just completed my eighth year in office.

Why did you run for public office: I was always involved in leadership organizations since I was in high school and I wanted to continue that. I also wanted to be a part of having a say in what happens in Butte and continue to make Butte the best place to live.

What Committees do you sit on: Currently I am the chair of the Council so I am unable to sit on any committee’s. I am however the President of the Montana League of Cities and Towns and sit on The Port of Montana board.

What initiatives/policies will you focus on over the course of your term: I want to continue working with public works so that we can continue the momentum that we already have going.

Over the next four years, what do you see are Butte-Silver Bow’s most important challenges and how would you like to address them: I think superfund will continue to be a major issue and we need to stay on top of that. I also think that another challenge is making sure everyone is on the same page. Sometimes we get special interest groups that dictate how things need to be done and we need to make sure that we make educated decisions and trust the information that is provided to us.

What do you hope to get out of your time serving the public:

What makes your district unique:

How can a constituent reach you: Email or text message work the best but a phone call is always good.

Do you prefer Pasty or Pork Chop Sandwich: Pasty with Gravy and Cole Slaw mixed together.

If you were stranded on a desert Island, what three items would you bring with you: Matches, a Firearm and ammunition.

Is there anything else you would like to tell your constituents:
