July 10, 2019, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM @ Archives Building
The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives will continue its Brown Bag Lunch series on Wednesday, July 10, with a presentation by Don Plessas about how to recreate a lost neighborhood using archival sources. In this talk, Plessas will demonstrate how he created his book, Katie's Story, about Meaderville. He will show how other people can work together and recreate their Lost Neighborhood with the resources available at the Butte Archives.
Don Plessas was raised first in Meaderville and then in the Longfellow area. He graduated from Butte High in 1964 and the University of Montana in 1969. He returned to Butte and taught in the Butte school system until 2001, teaching computer technology starting in Fortran all the way to Web Design. After retirement, Plessas pursued his interest in Butte History and currently enjoys spending most of his time traveling and at outdoor activities.
Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water will be provided.
