The Animal Services Board was approved by the Council of Commissioners on January 20, 2010 to advise the Council and Chief Executive in all actions necessary to carry out the provisions for enforcing animal control ordinances and confining nuisance and abandoned animals. The Animal Services Board has the authority to enter into agreements for the operation of the Animal Services Department and to supervise the management and affairs of the Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter. There are seven (7) members on the Board, and each member serves a three (3) year term. The appointing authority for the Board is the Chief Executive with concurrence by the Council of Commissioners.
