The main landfill is located several miles west of Butte off of Interstate-90. The facility is just north of Rocker, approximately 1 mile from the I-90/Rocker interchange, at 121074 N Browns Gulch Road.
The main landfill is open seven days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:50 p.m. Large loads going to Area C (see map below) you will have be be unloaded and out of Area C before 5:30 pm, NO EXCEPTIONS. The BSB Landfill is closed on all government holidays (New Year's Day, Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day , Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.)
The after hours disposal area is located directly across from the main landfill on Browns's Gulch Road. The hours of operation for the after hours disposal area will be from 6pm-8pm Sunday thru Saturday
The after hours disposal area is small, and the quantity of waste that can be received is limited, and is for pickup size loads and smaller. TRAILERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THIS AREA.
Butte-Silver Bow works with local businesses and non-profit organizations to provide the community with the best possible recycling service options. The Butte Landfill accepts the following: antifreeze, automotive batteries, cardboard, metals, newspapers, oil, and yard waste.
Lets all do our part to keep our county clean. Leave your trash at the landfill, not along the roadside. Municipal Code 8.08.030 requires you to cover and secure your load with a tarp. Failure to do so will result in a $100.00 fine.
